Atwood 6-Gal. Gas w/ Pilot (G6A6P) Replacement Parts

Keep the hot water flowing in your classic rig. The Atwood G6A6P is a legendary, ultra-reliable 6-gallon water heater loved by boondockers because its manual pilot light system requires zero 12-volt battery power to operate. However, over time, exposure to high heat, road vibrations, and hard water minerals means specific mechanical components will wear out. Whether your pilot flame won't stay lit, your tank is leaking from a brittle drain plug, or you need to replace a rusted exterior door, we carry the exact OEM-spec replacements to get your G6A6P back up and running safely.

Essential Replacement Parts for Model G6A6P

1. Burner & Pilot Components

Because the G6A6P does not use electronic ignition boards, your troubleshooting will almost always point to the mechanical gas assembly.
  • Jade Pilot Assembly (Atwood 91603): If your pilot flame lights but goes out the second you release the gas control knob, your thermocouple is likely burnt out. This complete assembly replaces the pilot tube, bracket, and thermocouple in one shot.
  • Flue Box Assembly (Atwood 90960): Houses and shields the burner flame. Replace this if yours has become heavily rusted, warped, or soot-choked, which can restrict proper airflow and cause poor heating.

2. Plumbing Safety & Maintenance

  • Pressure Relief Valves (3/4" or 1/2" NPT): A critical safety feature that releases water if the tank overheats or over-pressurizes. If yours is constantly dripping, it's time for a replacement.
  • 1/2" Nylon Drain Plugs (Atwood 91857): Atwood tanks feature a patented aluminum-clad core. Never use a brass drain plug, as it will cause galvanic corrosion and ruin the aluminum tank threads. Always stick to these OEM nylon plugs.

3. Exterior Trim & Hardware
